CHRISTMAS............

a sweet time!

As time has passed my Christmas decorating has changed.  We've come a long way from our first Christmas tree and the hand made cross stitched ornaments from my mother-in-law. Who we are and the trail of our children's lives has brought us to this point. Now as the children are all adults I've begun to let my new found love of ALL things shabby chic make known it's place.

Many months ago there was a need for things in my garage to be put in better order. Amongst them I found these Christmas trees that were wrapped in burlap laying in a box. Looking oh so sad --and reminding me much of a blank canvas or should we say a challenge I gave myself. Transform these sweet babies into ladies for our home Christmas decorating.

Challenge accepted!!!!

While out and about looking for treasures I came across this booth that had a wonderful selection of old coffee pots. You know that moment when you say --there you are--I was just looking for you. It was difficult but I picked out 2 and brought them home with me. And then we wait.........I knew the creative bug would hit me one day and today was it. Perfect! It was cold and raining. Lovely day to spend in my studio.

The garland for my trees must be unique and unto itself special. After trying and untying this is what came together. I've combined ribbon, tulle, twine, strips of lace, square of pattern tissue, and an old button.

Now the sweet little coffee pot and burlap wrapped tree....

The sweet little tree fit perfectly down into the coffee pot. A sponge brush helped dust the tree with bits of  snow.  But when I stood back there was just something I didn't like. To Much Tree!!! Out came the wire cutters.

What fun it was to pull it all together.

You can't tell it in this picture but a battery operated votive has been put in the glass piece that comes on top of the coffee pot. It adds just the right sparkle.

Little ornaments made just for the coffee pot trees.

Oh what fun it will be to add these little darlings into my decor for Christmas and you know ..........I'll share with you.

love to all,
Trish

P.S.
Look what else has been going on in the studio.....more to come soon.

They went a shopping!!

After a beautiful day at the Lord's house, a yummy lunch at Olive Garden we made a surprise visit by Home Goods.  There are always goodies to be found and today was no exception.  The two goodies we found of course are beautiful as they are but I plan to put a little Trish magic on both.  My plans are to show you these now and then later after the magic show you will be to see the new and improved treasure.

Darling isn't she.... but needs just a little tiny bit help.

Just a few more details and it will be such a southern charmer.

And this sweet box. We were on our way heading up toward the check out when my husband said don't forget your box. Honey, I was not gonna wait for him to say that again. Grabbed the box and off we went.(Thank you honey!)

The outing ended well with yet another treat......5spot yougurt!! Yummy in my tummy!!!

Oh how I look forward to visiting with you again soon.  Be well my darling!

A Georgia Thanksgiving.....

Things are really starting to look like it is turkey time.  And the count down has begun.  As with most families Thanksgiving is a time to nourish the ties of family and catch up with friends.  Our Thanksgiving will be like none before.  Our precious Nikki will not be able to come home from her new job in New Mexico.

This is my fall wreath that hangs on our front door.  It has been such a delight to share with our neighbors.

Below are just a few pics from around our home.

These are my version of the beautiful chenille pumpkins I was loving on pinterest.  The little stems are salt shakers.

I just love how my FALL banner turned out.  The little frames are from Goodwill!! Gotta love that place!!

This sweet darling hangs in our family dinning room.  I treasure it dearly.

These two plate stands are waiting on pumpkin and pecan....... pie that is!!!!!

As we gather around the table hand in hand with a prayer of Thanksgiving on Thursday this will await everyone.

When I bow my head in prayer, you my sweet darling, will be included in my prayer of Thanksgiving.

love to all,
Trish

HAPPY
HALLOWEEN!!!!!!

Here is my black angel all dressed and ready for another day at Cosmetolgy school.  This is going to be such a fun day!  The school dress code is that each student must wear all black.  They can add color with cool shoes and jewlery.  Now that scarfs are so amazing she is able to wear them also. And isn't this just the perfect way to find another wearing for those formals that we have hanging in our closets.

Everyone please be safe.
 Fill your life with fun!!!
 And celebrate the moment!!

Love Y'all,
Trish

HAPPY WEEEEEK

OF

HALLOWEEN!

What great fun has been had by preparing for Halloween of 2012.  With creativity flowing the shabby chic Halloween of 2012 has arrived! It would be most lovely if you would come with me on a short tour of our home. A great southern 'thank ya' to those on Pinterest that have fueled the creative fire.

Some of these sweeet darlings in my foyer came all the way from Carlsbad, NM.

This display is in my dinning room. Love how my collection of apothecary jars fits in so well with my  shabby chic Halloween.

Thanks to the generous free printables I was able to create these for the living room. These were so fun to make!

The mantel in our living room. As you can see, I am a detail person.  It can be most fun or drive you crazy!!!!(Please do not poll my family on this.)

Isn't she just lovely. I feel in love with her the minute she came into my world.  Thank you TJMaxx for the $12 new friend.

What a real 'treat' it has been to have you stop by for a bit. Now to began to prepare for Wednesday.  The word is that there will be a black angel among us.  Check back to seeeeee--

SHE HELD ON!!!

There is never a good time for bad things to happen. Sometimes those events take our breath away and we have to bend down to our knees ---and draw the living breath of life from
Christ.

As I inhale and pull my every strength from Christ I'll become more the woman, mother, and wife He would have me to be. It is an understatement to say that life is a journey.  Life is about the moment and those in the moment.

Come share the moment with me.

The Sweet Side of Athens, GA

Yesterday we headed the lady in red(my red Explorer) towards
Athens.  The sweet sight of my girl was so welcomed. Errands done, a healthly dinner and then an evening stroll.  There is this wonderful side to Athens that often gets overlooked because she is the home of the Bulldog nation. But that lady has a sweet side to tell about.  Our stroll took us to a time when front porches were a requirement.

A time when the breeze came all the way through the house. And you could even smell outside that momma was in the kichen just a cooking away.

But what a treat was in store for us! We had stopped to admire this beautiful southern belle. This darling of a gal came around the corner.  After asking her if it was ok to take pictures she then said ----why yes, but would you like to come inside for a tour. My girls and I were on the front porch saying yes before she knew it.  Oh my! Oh my! This southern belle was built in 1840. She moved around a bit but put roots down here in 1870.  The inside was filled to the brim with antiques and a world of history.

That evening stroll down the sweet side of Athens, Ga left us with a cup that overflowed.  Thank you Lord for that evening stroll.

A Heavenly Image

A wise man once said that a child's first glimpse of our Heavenly father is our earthly father. In my family that was so.  Daddy was a simple man. The most important thing in life was his family. His laughter would echo through our home. His sacrifice unending. His love circled our family. My sweet Daddy you are missed.

(nothing like the happiness of a new mickey mouse watch!)

~REST~

"Come to me and I will give you rest..."
Matthew 11:28

So we came! This is the entrance to our island cottage.  There have been so many wonderful minutes on this sweet island.  And the cottage is just perfect.

This little path leads you to an evening of relaxation.  At the end of this dock we've had many indept conversations but mostly laughter.  CRABS!!!!

Isn't there just something magical about a sea shell.....

But my dear friend there is a secret that I have.  One that I am most excited about.  You will see very soon.  For something will begin to bloom.

My dear sweet one, please check back with me often so that you do not miss this event.....

PASSION

Today I put some thoughts toward the meaning of passion. One of the thoughts that I had was that passion is a connection of heart, mind, body, and soul.

It also seem to be a step towards a completion of who you are meant to be.

Where ever you are today. Keep this is mind....
